Hypothesis Testing

Chi-Squared Test

You use a chi-squared test when you have one categorical variable and a theoretical/expected outcome (chi-squared goodness of fit test), or when you have two categorical variables and you want to see if they are dependent on one another (chi-squared test of independence). Generally, when using a chi-squared test, you are dealing with counts or proportions.
